Cirque de Vol is hiring for full, part-time, and on-call Youth Summer Camp Counselors, Instructors, Activity Specialists, and Assistants to join our creative and playful youth circus and aerial arts staff team this Spring and Summer of 2023.

Location: Cirque de Vol, Raleigh, N.C.
**Please Note: *This position is temporary from June-August 2023
(Some part-time work may be available in April and May)

Association Description:
Cirque de Vol is a circus and creative movement arts school with a dedicated array of youth programming. Youth programming has a focus on various circus and aerial arts, mindfulness, yoga, theatre, performing arts, and other creative explorations for youth. Programming implements aspects of mindfulness and conscious child development.
Requirements:

Candidates must be 18+ and have previous experience working with children (preferably in a camp or school setting).

Must be comfortable working with kids of various ages. (Our programs run age groups 5-7, 8+, Tween, and Teen)

Must be able to provide kind and competent customer service on the phone, via email, and face to face with parents.

Must be punctual, self-motivated, responsible, able to work a flexible schedule, and have reliable transportation.

Must be computer savvy and comfortable with learning student registration software programs for basic tasks such as sign-ins and student information look-up and organization. (Training provided)

Candidates will be energetic, mature, kind, responsible, punctual, mindful, safety-oriented, and bring positive energy into the studio.
Camp Counselor Duties:

Checking kids in and out for camp

Team Player: Coordinating and leading activities with other staff team members.

Supervising kids throughout the camp day activities.

Must be comfortable leading activities on your own, or as an assistant.

Leading Youth Program Activities according to the Cirque de Vol Studio policies and guidelines

Maintaining a safe and enriching environment for kids

Prior experience with the circus, aerial arts, or gymnastics preferred.

Daily Cleaning Duties and Equipment up-keep and organization.
Youth Activities include: Partner Acro, Gymnastics, Mindfulness, Arts & Crafts, Aerial Arts, Miming, Theatre Games & Make-up, Costumes, Acting, Creative Storytelling, Stilt-walking, Hoop dance, Juggling, etc.
Previous experience in one or more of the above categories is preferred, but not necessarily required.
Required CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
Camp days run 9am-4pm Monday-Friday
Early Care: 8am-9am
After Care: 4pm-5pm

Youth Development Programs Director
Cirque de Vol is hiring a full-time Youth Development Programs Director to join our team. Successful candidates will enjoy working hands-on with our staff team and youth, and be motivated, energetic, and organized individuals capable of developing and implementing innovative strategies to achieve our growth and development goals.

Association Description:
Cirque de Vol is a circus and creative movement arts school with a dedicated array of youth programming. Youth programming has a focus on various circus and aerial arts, mindfulness/yoga, theater/performing arts, and other creative explorations for youth. Programming implements aspects of mindfulness and conscious child development.
This position will work closely with administrative management, families & students in our youth training, afterschool, and year-round camp programs. Other aspects include hosting family nights and private group youth workshops. This position is responsible for managing all staff/student communications, facilitation of schedules & calendars, creating and reaching quarterly growth goals and program budgets, (including outreach, marketing, and promotional events), and providing leadership/motivation to groups of young people, teenagers, and adults. Availability during all productions and programs is required.
Tasks and responsibilities range from full-on program management to oversight, to support: the ideal candidate would have the ability to function in both a leadership and support capacity (and often switch back and forth between the two). Must be a team player!
Other duties include a program schedule, staff hiring, and scheduling, building usage scheduling, implementation & oversight of educational programs, behavior management, oversight of data & fiscal systems, coordinating with staffing team, communicating with partner organizations as assigned, ordering and maintaining program supplies, operating and labor budget, equipment upkeep and maintenance, and parent registration processes/payments, and other duties as required. This is a full-time position. Candidates will work closely with the studio manager and youth program coordinator. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of (an amazing) team.
This position has a specific emphasis on Creative Movement & Circus Arts Training and Mindfulness Educational Programs. The Administrator will provide management oversight to all programs, camps (summer and school-year) including staffing, program, and curriculum implementation. This position requires a heavy emphasis on positive communication, active listening, and organizational skills.
The best person for the job would have experience/qualifications in or equivalent to the following:

Minimum three years experience working with program development or arts administration (youth or adult), e.g., camp director, school administrator, training program manager.
Applicants with experience managing youth programs and/or athletic and circus arts programs are encouraged to consider this position.

Mindfulness experience and/or Conscious Parenting/Teacher skills strongly preferred

Emotional Intelligence and Cultural Competency skills to serve and support a diverse community population.

Minimum two years integrated administration experience working with multiple levels of management

Must have excellent communication skills on the phone, email, and in-person

Ability to manage multiple schedules and calendars, and fluid scheduling

Must have excellent time management skills, be highly organized, self-motivated, mature, experienced, and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Must be comfortable with these software programs, or ability to learn: Sawyer Camp Registration Software, Mindbody Student Registration, Google Calendar, and Drive, Slack Channel, Trello Board, Canva, FB, IG, etc.)

Nurture children by designing lesson plans that include purposeful programming that develops social-emotional skills, fosters achievement, supports positive personal growth, and provides enrichment.

Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment including keeping supplies organized, maintaining and cleaning the facility, and caring for equipment.

Promote and monitor membership and/or program growth, taking a leadership role in membership cultivation and retention.

Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Ensure staff is facilitating engaging in age-appropriate activities. Responsible for maintaining all records and data on each child, employee, and volunteer.

Responsible for effectively handling any emergency incidents and submitting proper documentation that may occur in the program, using mature, sound judgment.

Recommend adjustments and administer the budget, exercising necessary expense controls and revenue production.
Community Development

Represent and promote Cirque de Vol in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other local organizations, businesses, and governmental entities in the local downtown Raleigh Community.

Promote and communicate the objectives and programs of Cirque de Vol programming through public communication/social media platforms.

Establish positive rapport with children, parents, volunteers and school personnel.
Required CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment.
Education Prerequisites
High school degree required with a college degree in child development, conscious parenting, mindfulness training, elementary education, psychology (or related) field preferred

TEACH WITH US
Cirque de Vol is always on the lookout for talented professionals to teach in our youth and adult training programs. We want great people with strong technical skills, a passion for teaching, and comfort in working as part of a team.
All candidates must have:
An ability to teach children and adult recreational students. Master Coaches to teach aspiring professionals. Comfort working in a team dynamic. The ideal instructor is interested in regular teaching, but we may be able to accommodate candidates with performance demands.
While we always accept applications from teachers in any discipline/specialty, we are currently actively searching for the following:
Master Tissu/Aerial Silks Instructor
The successful candidate must have:
Substantial professional experience as a circus performer, and a serious all-around background in acrobatics/gymnastics.
A high technical level on tissu. Additional teaching skills are welcome.
An ability to conceive and build or supervise the building of ensemble and solo circus acts with children or adults, with recreational as well as professional students.
Aerial & Acrobatics Instructor
The successful candidate must have:
Serious all-around background in acrobatics/gymnastics and professional experience as a circus performer.
Good knowledge and/or understanding of acrobatic specialties specific to the circus, such as tumbling, hand-balancing, hand-to-hand (partner acrobatics), teeterboard, etc.
An ability to conceive and build or supervise the building of ensemble and solo circus acts with children or adults, with recreational as well as professional students.
Group Fitness Instructor
The successful candidate must have:
Previous experience as a group fitness instructor, or a background in circus or gymnastics/acrobatics training. Enthusiasm for teaching fitness classes, and a high-energy, charismatic teaching style. Ability to develop and implement a unique conditioning curriculum grounded in the circus or yogic arts.
