Do you want to understand aerial on a deeper level?
Teacher training doesn’t just make you a teacher, it makes you a better aerialist. Understanding progressions, safety, and cueing will completely change how you train. Many students take this training to deepen their own practice, understand their body better, and gain confidence. Teaching afterwards is optional.
Join us for an immersive Cirque de Vol Level 1 Aerial Teacher Training led by Sebastian Gil Jacome.
Whether you're preparing to teach aerial or simply want to expand your knowledge and skills, this comprehensive training will give you practical tools, techniques, and a deeper understanding of how to approach beginner aerial instruction safely and effectively.

Coaches and aerialists of varying experience levels are welcome. Whether you're preparing to teach for the first time or already have teaching experience, this training provides valuable progressions, modifications, spotting techniques, and teaching tools.
Pre-Requisites:
Attendees should have proficiency in the following silk skills on both sides of the body:

Inverts from standing

Figure 8 and Dancer’s Locks (“eggbeaters”)

Basic (“French”) and Step (“Russian”) Climbs

6 month payment plans are available upon request.
Level 1 Training Requirements:
The training begins with a 3-day intensive led by Sebastian Gil Jacome.
The training requires an additional 26 mentorship hours to be completed within 90 days of the intensive training.
Mentorship requirements include:

6 hours observing certified instructors
-
8 hours teaching independently under the direct supervision of a certified instructor
-
12 hours co-teaching alongside a certified instructor
Schedule:
Friday, October 9th: 5:00-9:30PM
Friday, October 16th: 5:00-9:30PM
Friday, October 23rd: 5:00-9:30PM
Additional 4-hour rigging introductory training, date to be announced.

About Your Trainer
Sebastian is a dedicated aerialist, senior instructor, and teacher trainer with over a decade of experience in aerial silks, sling, duo fabric, aerial cube, lyra, and aerial rope. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a teacher training certification from Aerial Physique in Los Angeles.
Sebastian has developed his own teacher training program in Florida and collaborated with Cirque de Vol founder Sara Howell to create the organization’s Teacher Training curriculum. Howell received her aerial teacher training through Aerial Aircats at the Boulder Circus Center in Boulder, Colorado, and studied aerial rigging under Delbert Hall and Ludwig of Ludwig Rigs in Golden, Colorado.
As the lead trainer for Aerial Teacher Training Level 1, Sebastian brings extensive experience as both an aerial instructor and educator, guiding aspiring teachers in developing safe, effective, and engaging teaching practices.
Known for training students for competitive success and creating compelling choreography, Sebastian excels at developing routines, workshops, and conditioning programs that build strength, technique, and artistic expression.
Originally from Colombia and raised in Venezuela, Sebastian began his aerial journey in 2014. His coaching combines technical precision, injury prevention, and artistic creativity, helping students and teachers alike develop strength, fluidity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of aerial movement. His background in social work further informs his thoughtful, supportive approach to teaching and mentorship.
