In this 90-minute class, students will learn moves that translate well in between silks and rope (corde lisse). Arika will teach the foundations of aerial rope as well as Spanish Web which utilizes an attachment hanging off the rope to hold onto etc. This workshop is designed to be open level as we will be discussing a lot of aerial theory and really learning how rope and silks are alike as well as different.
Arika has been certified in aerial rope and silks through the Born to Fly Curriculum under Constance Echo Palmer. She desires to continue her aerial education. Arika has traveled around the states including Tennessee and California teaching in various studios and performing in various venues including but limited to the North Carolina Museum of Art, Marble’s Kids Museum, Carmel Country Club, King’s Raleigh Theatre, Raleigh Little Theatre via the Raleigh Rose Garden, Party Girl’s Dance & Fitness Club on lyra, sling, silks, trapeze, pole and also teaching yoga, hoop art, and contortion.
