BBoy Dance Class

*Pre-registration required at least one hour prior to class start time.

Bboy/girl is a contemplative dance class that combines three different disciplines: hip hop dance, contemplative practice and compositional improvisation. Practicing together in this way allows us to connect deeply on personal, communal and universal levels.
The hip hop foundation taught will be in the styles of rocking, breaking, house and party dances.

The improvisation techniques are inspired by the six viewpoints of space, shape, time, emotion, movement and story. An emphasis will be place on exploring the contemplative nature of freestyle and improvisation. In addition to dance various contemplative practices including vinyasa yoga, martial arts, mindfulness meditation and space awareness will inform our process.

Through bringing these three disciplines together we create a rich environment that provides us with an opportunity to synchronize our body, heart and mind in the present moment of dance.

Space is limited. Pre-registration required. Sign up today!
