Acro Fusion Intermediate/Advanced Workshops

Guest instructors Cassie Drew and Ryan Hamity are back with 3 chances to play and learn on 2/27 and 2/28. Each session will have a different focus, so sign up for all three and get a wide array of new skills to add to your practice. These traveling teachers and performers bring over 18 years of combined partner acrobatics experience and are certain to have something to share with everyone!

The schedule is as follows, please scroll down for additional details:
Saturday 10am-12pm: Handstands and Hand to Hand
Saturday 2-5pm: Standing Acrobatics

Sunday 12:30-3:30pm: Popping Machines

Cost:

1 session: $55
2 sessions: $100

3 sessions: $140

Saturday 2/27 10am-12pm: Handstands and Hand to Hand Practice (in aerial room)

Level: Intermediate. A well-rounded acrobatics practice involves having some focus on inversions and handstands. This 2-hr workshop will combine technique and drills for improving your floor handstand, as well as working on hand to hand with a partner.

Pre-reqs:

-30 sec handstand against the wall
-comfortable kicking up or tucking up to handstand
-tuck sit on hands with h2h grip

Saturday 2/27 2-5pm: Standing Acrobatics (in aerial room)

Level: Intermediate/Advanced. Wanna get high? Cassie and Ryan are well-known for linking tricks together in a graceful way, adding style and flair to their practice. During this workshop, they will not only teach you some new standing acro, but will also show you how to link tricks together, improving your performance quality.

Pre-reqs:

-Base or fly 2 high
-Base or Fly standing bird

-L basing base and fly:straddle bat, back bird, star, shoulder stand

Sunday 2/28 12:30-3:30pm: Washing and Popping Machines (in Celestine yoga room)

Level: Advanced. Everyone loves learning new washing machines, especially when they include pops and catches. We will be exploring a fun original popping machine by Cassie and Ryan, inspired by the spider roll, as well as some other pops and flips to add to your practice. This workshop is not for the faint of heart! Be ready to push your fear factor, engage your laugh button, and point your toes!

Pre-reqs:

-Base or fly: bird, throne, reverse foot to hand, reverse star, reverse straddle throne
-Comfortable basing or flying pops

-Have worked some low h2h (basing or flying)
